All About Mrs. Turkette

Welcome back! My name is Amie Turkette and I will be your 3rd grade/ 4th grade teacher this year. This is my 5th year at Roebuck Elementary. I previously worked in Cherokee County and Spartanburg District 5. I have been working with children with Autism for eight years and also worked with children with emotional and behavioral disorders for two years. My educational background includes a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Special Education.

I grew up in Northern Virginia, but moved to South Carolina in 2006. I am married with two children. My son is 21 and my daughter is 19. I currently have 3 dogs, 1 of which is a rescue dog we recently saved and nursed back to health. I also have a cat who has been with us for 17 years. I love animals! We have a classroom pet named Crush. He is a red eared slider aquatic turtle.

This summer was busy as I worked with special needs students tutoring, I helped with two summer camps in our district, and still found time to go on four vacations. I was blessed to visit family in Virginia, Tennessee, and Missouri. I also got to spend some much needed time at the beach. The beach is my happy place!

Ms. Kumar and Mrs. Hinson will also be working with our class this year! These ladies are amazing and share in my vision for our classroom.

Some of my favorite things are:
