Ms. Lovett's Fourth Grade

Hello new 4th graders and parents!  I hope you've all had a great summer and are ready to start back to school.  We are going to have a great year and I just can't wait!
I hope you've been studying your multiplication facts these past few months since you will need to know those in 4th grade.  I also expect that I'll have some students who have been reading too.  That excites me!  I LOVE to read and I have read some really good books this summer.
I look forward to meeting you Thursday, Aug. 16 between 8:00-1:00 on Meet the Teacher Day.  We will start bright and early Monday, Aug. 20 so rest up and get ready to blast off to a great school year!

My name is Beth Lovett and I have been teaching school for 28 years.  I've been at Roebuck for 18 of those years.  As some of you may know, I've taught 5th grade here for 17 years and just moved down to 4th grade this past year (2017-2018).  I love 4th graders!
I am a definite cat person with 5 cats at home (there's a story as to why so many and I'll tell you guys later).  I do not have children so my cats are my children - plus I have you guys for 10 whole months too!  I love coffee and you will see me with a cup every single morning.  I'm not really a morning person so that's why I so desperately need my coffee every day.  I am crazy for Dr. Pepper and Reese's cups, Mexican food, and office supplies.  (I know that sounds crazy - office supplies, really?)  My favorite subjects are math and social studies.  I am fond of reading, as I mentioned above, and I like to play my piano, work in the yard, and just sometimes be lazy and watch TV.  I adore my family, fresh flowers, sunsets, autumn, and my church.
I try to be as organized as possible but I sometimes struggle with that.  We are going to work on that together this year by keeping our desks and bookbags clean and organized (and yes, my desk too!).  That's a little bit about me.
Parents, I promise to love your children and teach them well this year.  There are several sayings posted around my classroom to motivate us each day:  Do your best.  Be Kind.  Work Hard. Be a Leader. Show Respect. Help Others.  Please contact me with any questions or concerns as often as needed.
I look forward to working with you all this year!!
